Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop-To offer the best in reading and writing instruction, this is the time of year when I begin to intertwine the two workshops.  I will be doing much more individualized instruction and assessment to ensure I am reaching every students’ needs.  This is an exciting time in 3rd grade!  We have also blended together all 3rd grade students for and added reading instruction time in the afternoon as you have already been informed of.  We are so excited to see all the progress from this added reading time with our students!
Spelling-Unit 10 test will be this Thursday.  The kids have been doing a wonderful job with their spelling.  Please continue to practice any misspelled words from the test.
Math-Multiplication and division strategies are something we are all working in math.  Students will need extra practice at home in both areas.  If you have flashcards, internet games or any other fun way to learn multiplication facts, please practice with your child at home.
Social Studies- Think About It projects, which are DUE ON MONDAY, February 21st! Our topic is Michigan History.
Please see the attached list of 1200 High-Frequency Writing Words.  These are words our kids should know how to read, spell and use in their everyday writing.  Please keep it on hand to practice with.
